New haircut

Anyone who was following me during the 30 for 30 read that I was growing my hair out (from really short) and it was driving me crazy on and off. Well ... I finally got the weird mullet grow out trimmed off the back and it looks and feels 110% better. Yay! A hair cut is always a sure thing for picking up my spirits. I think that is one reason I continually grow it out and cut it off. :D

Below are photos of my haircut and my outfit from Friday. I posted a photo from the 30 for 30 so you can remember what my hair looked like before.

Finally! Some finishing thoughts

Life was a little crazy there for a bit. I was sick for an entire week and then immediately had some training that took me to the Seattle area. My laptop is on the fritz, so I was not connected during my training, plus I've been playing catch up on the rest of my life. Today I decided that it was high time I share what I learned during the 30 for 30 Remix Challenge. The fact that I got a haircut today (stay tuned for photos) and that the sun was peaking out when I got back home this afternoon helped. I got to take some photos outside! Of myself and the blooming spring flowers. Woo-hoo! Anyway, hear are some of my thoughts ...

Spring had arrived and with the flowers comes what us Portlanders call 'sun breaks'. Here's
hoping for many more between now & the 4th of July (that's when our summer actually begins)

Final outfit

I expected to get a little further than this even when I decided that I might not make it to 30. However, I ended up with a super nasty case of the flu and have been in my jammies for longer than I care to admit. The fever and cough have lessened a bit today, but now my nose will not stop running and I am sneezing like crazy, so I still feel pretty sick. Ugh. Anyway, here was the last outfit caught on camera before the flu took me out.

Day 24

Turtleneck - Old Navy, Sweater - NY & Co., Silk scarf - vintage thrifted,
Khaki pants - Loft, Boots - Ariat, Earrings - gift from my mom

Water Logged - Days 21, 22 & 23

Okay, so we all know that it rains a lot in Portland, Oregon, right? But our winter rain is often a drizzle. Real Oregonians do not even use umbrellas. The last few days it has been pouring. Like the weather gods think this is a Southern thunderstorm, but we do not have any thunder and lightening, a rarity here.

BUT the deluge has been enough that we have water seeping up through the concrete cracks in our gear room in the basement. Ugh. Luckily, the few things that got wet are things that can get wet. Dry bags (designed to keep things dry!), coolers, Rubbermaid storage containers, one cardboard box of freeze dried food. But it has also been colder than normal. We had that little bit of snow and ice last week and the snow level is coming down to between 500-1000 feet again later this week. Which means there is always a chance it actually gets to the valley floor. We seem to be hovering just above freezing in the mornings. So we will see. Weird weather, especially for February! The good news is that the mountains are getting more snow again, which is important for spring mountain climbing, but also to ensure that we do not end up with a drought this summer. We had a warm spell and all the amazing amounts of snow we had accumulated this winter were almost melted in January!

What you can't see is all of the coolers and other items stacked up on the "dry" side of the room. Hope it stays that way!
